On The Sand

If you prefer land-based roles, you can complete the Observers Award and pair this with a Radio Operator Certificate and/or First Aid qualification.

You can join a patrol team as an award member and wear the iconic red and yellow to actively patrol the beach and assist in the surveillance of beachgoers.

Observer

Develop your knowledge of surf awareness and skills, which will enable you to be able to read the surf, identify potential risks and hazards in the surf and identify persons in difficulty in the surf.

 

First Aid

Gain essential skills to administer first aid care and treatment in the workplace or in personal situations. Provide First Aid covers adults‚ children and babies in a wide range of emergency situations.

Advanced Resuscitation Techniques

Develop skills and knowledge to manage life-threatening external bleeding, use oxygen, airway management devices and automated external defibrillators during resuscitation, and to administer oxygen to conscious or unconscious victims.

Radio

Learn how to operate communications systems and equipment in surf lifesaving operations

Official

Become a certified surf lifesaving official, ensuring the fair and safe conduct of competitions
