Founded in 1924 by 32 dedicated members, Alexandra Headland Surf Life Saving Club has grown significantly over the past 101 years. From humble beginnings in a small shed, the Club’s facilities have expanded in line with the growing popularity of the Surf Life Saving movement along the coast.
Today, Alex has more than 1,700 active members, including volunteer lifesavers, nippers, and surf sports athletes. Our licensed Community Club, with more than 45,000 members, plays a vital role in supporting Alex’s lifesaving and community programs.
Alex SLSC remains committed to the core values of Surf Life Saving and continues to play an active role in the community. A century on, the legacy of our founding members lives on through a thriving, inclusive organisation dedicated to saving lives and building community.
